If they are refusing to reduce your rate or you feel they should be able to reduce it more, let them know you have had offers from other credit card companies that will give you a better rate. Sometimes that will motivate your credit card companies to do more for you.

If you are able to transfer your balance to a card with a low interest rate do it. Both of these steps will save you hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars in interest payments. These things can save you money just by making a phone call.

Look at what you are spending on entertainment and that includes eating out. How much money can you save by cooking at home? How much money can you save by renting movies instead of going to the movies? Better yet, look for entertainment that is free. There is a lot of it that is available and it can be enjoyable, without costing you anything.

How much is your cell phone bill? How much is your cable bill? How much is your internet service? Years ago none of these things were around and nobody suffered because of it. See where you can cut back on these services or maybe even eliminate some of them.
