Worries have always been part and parcel of our everyday life due to different factors inherent in the environment in which we live. Different individuals are affected by worries that are so distinctive and dissimilar that some may only be temporarily affected, however leaving some permanently disturbed. The stigma of constant worrying in the lives of these individuals can itself developed into a medical condition known as anxiety disorder.

Endless fear, worry and anxiety may be a complicating condition and can have considerable impact in their lives not only mentally but both physically and psychologically. This kind of mental disorder problem is triggered every time the body prepares itself for a battle or fight condition when it intercepts potential danger or disaster. The rush of adrenaline and sudden hormonal changes accelerate the speed of the functioning of the various body parts and organs such as heart and brain, causing a heightened stress level, tension and anxiety.

The physical effects of anxiety disorder is characterized by discomfort in abdomen, shortness of breath, frequent needs to go to bathroom, nausea and diarrhea, muscle tension and usually accompanied by pounding heart, sweatiness and faintness. During these attacks, the individuals may feel chilled or weak and they may experience tightness in chest and smothering sensations.

Physical symptoms aside, anxiety disorder may manifest itself into psychological disorders that are not only limited to conditions such as insomnia, lack of concentration and focus, excessive irritation, sudden anger, unexplained irritation, phobia, etc; but the extent of complication can be so extensive that it can cause a person to experience anxiety and tension almost around anyone and around the clock.

Besides the anxiety symptoms you may experience emotional symptoms too. You will feel a constant feeling of unease that has nothing to do with your present situation. You might experience anxiety due to being involved in a stressful situation like pressure at work or a relationship. Then your anxiety symptoms may rear their heads due to being anxious about an illness, real or imagined. Then there is always your bodys reaction to perceived hazardous threats. All of these emotional stresses can and will increase your anxiety symptoms dramatically.

When you first experience anxiety your doctor must be able to diagnose your complaint. The doctor has to be able to decide if your symptoms are a medical condition or if they are a mental problem. Once you have been identified as having an anxiety disorder, treatment to cure or control your condition may be begun.

Although everyone experiences anxiety at any points in his or her life and from time to time, anxiety becomes a disorder when the symptoms and associated behaviours portrayed above are persistent in the vicious cycle of exacerbated worries and so critical that they interfere with the persons life and stop him or her from performing their daily routines or normal activities. It is necessary to verify if an anxiety disorder condition is a mental disorder condition particularly where the prolonged fear, anxiety or worries are self-provoking in itself without presence of any events or elements that pose danger or threats to the persons mind.
