Do They Help Small Business!!

'Not All' High street banks are not very helpful when it comes to helping you to set up merchant accounts.

They seem to forget...

That we are only human some times and behave accordingly, Like The "Bank Of Scotland" who if your not careful will take monies from your account for things like a Credit Card Machine seen in most shops that swipe your cards for transactions.

They take the money via another company that they use for the supply of the Machine by Direct Debit long before the bank has even sent your application to the Underwriters to verify and Credit check, but they to are subject to misplacement for weeks.

Magically appearing again about the same time as the New Merchant Accounts manager whose mobile rings in vain for over a week and a half but even after a few voice messages to get in touch with you they fail, and hence get in trouble by their superiors and have to get back to you eventually and sort your account application out, and what do you know, they did not give you that much needed merchant Number to get you going, but there is another way round this problem.

First you need to get your web site up and running. This is the major part of the problem that new internet Marketers face as they try to do things in a uniformed way when it comes to their website presence.

You need to work on the little things as well as the necessary ones to get in line for approval from the banks.

The web sit must have a contact page with your company or individual detail for customers to contact you with problems, also you need to have a terms and conditions page to let individuals know that they have to follow your guidelines and clearly display what they are in your site.

You must have some sort of order taking process in place like Order Desk Pro or Shopping cart to hold track of the order coming in among other things like returns, addresses, numbers, names, when and where they joined, what they bought and when, how and so on.

This needs to be backed up by a business plan in some detail, go to Download area to see A Business Plan sortly, and that also includes a profit and loss chart and a Forecast and projection of where you want to be in a few Month/Years time from now, how much you expect to turn over in the next period of a year, so the banks Underwriters can see if you are a worthy risk to take or not.

Whew!!!

After all that, you can just apply to Streamline or Lloyds for a worthy service and prompt attention by very helpful staff and Managers of each of the establishments.

Here are a few links to either one:

P.S. Thanks - Sarah & Michael.

It is advisable to sort out your VAT as soon as you can to get some returns on you input tax for your new venture expenditures to get your business off the ground.

So don't be afraid to sort VAT out, remember you can't get in tax problems if you have not earned any money yet from your business so start preparing for things to do to open you shop doors...
