One Mans Search for Business Success on the Net
Author: adrian ryderLike many individuals I believed that somewhere out there was a genuine business opportunity which could once and for all take me away from the daily grind of a humdrum job, and into the realms of those individuals who only had to work a couple of hours a day, and spent the rest of their time sunbathing or spending the vast wealth that was so easy to earn with an online business.
EARN $30,000 A MONTH, MAKE A MILLION, I WILL SHOW YOU HOW ETC. Great I thought, with visions of red Ferraris and luxury condos spinning through my head, this was going to be a breeze!
Two years and many so called "business opportunities" later, still no luxury condo, and a humble Subaru sitting in the driveway, not the red Ferrari of my dreams. So what went so horribly incorrect in my quest for internet millions?
I think my first mistake was believing the hype. If making a fortune online was so easy everyone would be doing it, and day jobs would be a thing of the past. After a few months I started taking these promises of huge income with more than a few grains of salt. Why were all these incredibly rich individuals [well if you believe their own press] so desperate to assist me succeed? The truth? they werent.
I think the principle that many of these individuals operated on was that you would purchase their "system" find it didnt work for you,and rather than demanding a refund would simply go on to another "opportunity" thinking that the failiure of the last one was somehow your fault, and just hold silent about it.
I finally came to understand that if an opportunity sounded too worthy to be true, it probably was. I learned a few useful things along the way too in terms of how to pick the worthy from the bad.
Firstly always check out customer support of any "opportunity" Ask lots of questions even if they are silly just to see if you get a response. Same day responses always impressed me. Many companies seemed to think that three or four days was quite ok, not with me it wasnt.
Secondly did they have a real world presence, ie offices and phone numbers.Ring them if they did and question them some questions.
Thirdly testimonials, and lots of them, preferably more specific than "yeah I made heaps-Joe-New York".If testimonials are genuine, then the company concerned should if requested be able to put you in touch with the person who wrote it.
Fourthly did they offer a full money back guarantee. Many guarantees are not straightforward and come with conditions which make them impossible to claim on.
Finally if you can purchase through a reputable payment processor like Paypal or Clickbank, you can get your money back easily if you are dissatisfied with a product or service.
If opportunities met all of these criteria then maybe just maybe they were worth exploring.
So where did this mans journey end? Did he find what he was looking for? He likes to think so.
